Carlo Karim Frem

Carlo first stepped in to Sharmila’s dance class when he was just about 12 years old. He was hooked and preceded to invest himself heavily in dance thanks to Sharmila’s guidance and enthusiasm. After a few years of training, he had the opportunity to be dance with Sharmila’s ensemble in prestigious events such as launches, promotions, concerts and even music videos.

After his time in Dubai, Carlo decided to move to the US in order to pursue his education goals. He studied Cognitive Psychology and Neuroscience in Princeton University. His fields of study and research specifically deal with the underlying mechanisms behind higher-order human cognitive functions such as rationality, decision-making, judgment and learning. He is interested in understanding how to apply these findings to the educational and corporate world, in addition to analyzing their implications in persuasion, policymaking and economics. He is currently attending Imperial Business School and is aspiring to become a successful businessman/entrepreneur.

In Princeton, Carlo has had the chance to join two highly respected dance companies, BAC: Dance and diSiac Dance Company, where he continued to actively dance and choreograph. He was the Artistic Director of diSiac Dance Company. This position requires him to manage the entire macroscopic artistic vision of the company. His duties and responsibilities include running auditions, selecting pieces and choreographers, casting pieces appropriately, cleaning the show, creating the show order, coordinating with lighting and sound, and scheduling all rehearsals. Carlo also has the opportunity to work with a very talented and respected Princeton alum film/music video director as a dancer/choreographer for promotional music videos. The videos that he has been featured in have reached over one million views on YouTube and continue to grow popular.
